Today's TGIFFF Site is: Funology

Funology: The Science of Having Fun!
http://www.funology.com/

Most of the sites I review are usually online based games and activities. Not Funology. Funology: The Science of Having Fun! is chock-filled with family fun activities, games, jokes, riddles and yummy recipes. If you're kids don't feel like doing anything educational, then choose one of their magic tricks to perform with them and have them try it on their own. The magic tricks are actually more math than magic but kids don't realize that they're adding and subtracting when they're having fun doing it.

One of the things I love about the site is that it's so user friendly--both to kids and adults. While the site is categorized, when you first land on the homepage (http://www.funology.com/) you can scroll through some of site's newest activities; choose to look through the tabbed categories (Jokes and Riddles, Boredom Busters, etc.); choose one of the Most Popular Activities; or have your kid choose through the Mom, I'm Bored section.

My Three Favorite Sections:
1. Weird Science- Science can be fun and simple to do. These activities don't take very long but they're great because they get kids to really think about things they usually wouldn't swell upon.
2. Boredom Busters-Great because we all get bored and these activities are simple but extremely fun. I like the Recycling activities. Kids and adults can create great things out of things we would usually throw away.
3. Magic Tricks-More math than magic but a great way to get your kids to think about math in a new way. Before you know it, they'll be trying to add and subtract so they can play the same tricks for their friends.
4. Games-Great indoor, outdoor, holiday and secret code games. I love the indoor games for those rainy days or the outdoor games for the times you need to channel some of your kids' energies--but in a positive and fun way.
5. Jokes and Riddles-Everybody loves a good joke.
6. Wacky Facts-I loved learning about how everything worked when I was younger. For me reading helped unlock the world's secrets. Wacky Facts can help spur new thinking and get kids interested in things that usually wouldn't spark them.
7. Yummy Recipes- I love food and so do kids. Nice and simple recipes that involve minimal cooking and chopping (both of which should be done by adults).

OK, I lied. I loved most of the sections except Hot Stuff (these are just toys that can be purchased through the site).

I hope you enjoy!!!

I'll be doing some catch-up reviews this weekend.
